RADON GAS TESTING
WHY TEST FOR RADON?
Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that you cannot smell, see or taste. When you breathe air containing radon, you increase your risk of developing lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. If you smoke and your business or home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer is especially high.
The USEPA offers maps of areas in the US with rough estimates on the concentration of radon likely to be experienced. However, testing is the only way to positively quantify radon in your business or home. The USEPA, Surgeon General, American Lung Association, American Medical Association and National Safety Council all recommend testing for radon.
All Phase Environmental is not a licensed radon testing firm, however, we coordinate work with licensed firms to provide our clients with testing services. We can work with these firms to manage the sampling your building. Then we will work with you to analyze and interpret your results. If necessary, we help make recommendations for decreasing the radon levels. We will also provide you with a rough order of magnitude cost estimate for recommended mitigating repairs or mechanical systems.
